To become a member of the KZNKC you can email secretary@kznkartclub.co.za and they will send through all the documents or you can download the form provided to get more information:

OPTIONS AVAILABLE:
1st family member = R4 515 p/year and only R102 per visit thereafter
2nd & 3rd family member = R2 255 p/year and only R102 per visit thereafter
Member of the KZNKC only = R338 per visit
Non Members = R450 per visit
Super practise card = R9 030 p/year. No extra charge per visit

All competitors must purchase an MSA karting License and all competitors must also have medical insurance to compete. You also need to belong to the KZN Kart Club, or another kart club affiliated to the MSA to apply for the license and insurance.
You have two options to start with. You can either rent a kart or buy a kart.

- Racing Suit

- Racing Boots
- Rib Guard (Optional but highly recommended)

Now that the logistics are out of the way, let the racing begin! Only members of the KZN Kart Club or members of other Kart Clubs can race and the fees for racing are as follows: -

CLASS OPTIONS
Our classes support all ages, genders. You get two options.
1st Option - Social Class(4Stroke) - This class still allows you to race, but you don't compete in regional races with Rotax
2nd Option - 2Stroke - This class allows you to enter to compete across the country with Rotax.

Kart racing organized under the WOMZA umbrella is divided into specific age, weight and speed categories to suit youngsters as they grow. This ensures a safe and exciting progression from 5 years onwards.
The lightweight kart has a wheelbase of 77cm which fits the 5 to 9-year old’s perfectly without modifications or adaptations required. A minimum weight of 74 kg (of kart and driver as raced) and just less than 3 bhp this kart provides the ideal balance between performance and safety.
These were once known as “Baby karts” or “Cadets” in South Africa but they developed a reputation as being a specialist tuner’s class.
Very reliable, easy to run and low-cost formula using durable Mojo C2 tyres – renowned for long life and consistent performance.
A new complete, ready to race kart including VAT costs starts at R 41 580. Used karts start from R 10 000.
Club, Regional and National racing is available countrywide, and Bambino will feature on the 2022 SARMC Karting National Championship Series.

Micro Max Representative:
Kart racing organized under the WOMZA umbrella is divided into specific age, weight and speed categories to suit youngsters as they grow. This ensures a safe and exiting progression from 5 years onwards – Micro Max is the second step on the ladder.
Micro Max is a step up from the Bambino class or ideal to start karting for larger 7-year olds and can be competed in until the end of the year in which you turn 11.
Using a de-tuned ROTAX 125 Junior Max engine @ 8 bhp and fitted to a 95cm “mini chassis” – designed for 7 to 13-year-old kids – this provides an easy to drive, easy to run and low running cost formula. Various makes of chassis are available in SA.
The winner of the Micro Max class will be invited to compete at the ROTAX Max Challenge Grand Finals in 2022. The prize includes the use of brand-new kart and engine drawn by raffle this ensures the fairest racing in karting. All tyres dry and wet, fuel, oil, tools, trolley, etc. are covered by this prestigious invitation.
The Rotax karting formula provides for a very easy and low-cost upgrade from Micro Max to Mini Max class when your driver is either too old or too heavy to continue in Micro Max.
Micro Max has a minimum all up weight of 105kg and uses durable Mojo C2 tyres.
A new complete race-ready kart costs including VAT R 95 000 and used karts are available from R 35 000. (Beware of buying outdated equipment with a view to renovating it – rather spend more and buy race competitive stuff).

Mini Max Representative:

This is the step up from Micro Max or for new comers to start racing between 9 and 13 years old. Using a restricted (13 bhp) ROTAX Max Junior engine and fitted to a 95cm “mini chassis” (designed for 9 to 13-year-old kids and various brands are available in SA) this provides an easy to drive, easy to run and low running cost formula.
The Rotax karting formula provides for a very easy and low-cost upgrade/downgrade from Micro Max to Mini Max so when your driver is either too old or too heavy to continue in Micro Max a few simple changes on the engine increases the power to 13 bhp. Mini Max has a minimum all up weight of 118kg and uses durable Mojo C2 tyres.
New complete race-ready kart including VAT costs R 95 000 and used karts sell from R 35 000.

Junior Max Representative:

This is the step up from Mini Max or for new comers to start racing between 12 and 15 years old. Using the famous Rotax 125 Junior Max engine without restrictors (22 bhp), fitted to a 104cm “senior” chassis and wider Mojo D5 tyres and a minimum weight of 145 kg these karts set impressive lap times.
The Rotax karting formula provides for a very easy and low-cost upgrade/downgrade right from Micro Max up to Senior Max, so when your driver is either too old or too heavy to continue in Junior Max the engine can be upgraded to Senior Max specification (30 bhp).
New complete race-ready karts cost incl. VAT R 134 000 and used outfits sell for R 50 000 upwards (beware of buying outdated equipment with a view to renovating it – rather spend more and buy race competitive stuff).
These hi-tech water-cooled Rotax engines provide a very long life and parity of performance so you score from real long-term economy. Electric start and auto-clutch provide a safe and convenient way to get out there or recover from a spin without needing assistance.

Senior Max Representative:

Senior Max is the logical next step from Junior Max. The class is an open class and drivers can compete from the year they turn 14 until they are too old to kart. Weight or being 32 years old will move you on to the next class, Max 175. A driver weighing approximately 75kg will not need to carry any lead.
New complete race-ready karts cost incl. VAT R 138 000 and used outfits sell for R 55 000 upwards (beware of buying outdated equipment with a view to renovating it – rather spend more and buy race competitive stuff).
By just changing to the Senior cylinder which accommodates the power valve and the compound of tyre you have made the jump up to Senior Max. The top Senior Max driver is invited to compete at the ROTAX Max Challenge Grand Finals. The prize includes the use of brand new kart and engine drawn by raffle this ensures the fairest racing in karting. All tyres dry and wet, fuel, oil, tools, trolley, etc. are covered by this prestigious invitation.
It is advisable to take part in Senior Max for at least one season before moving into the premier Rotax DD2 class.

It is highly recommended to take part in Senior Max for at least one season before moving in to the premier Rotax DD2 class.

It is highly recommended to take part in Max 175 for at least one season before moving in to the premier Rotax DD2 Masters class.

4 Strokes Representative:

The Karts used in this class is the Honda Storke 390cc 4 stroke with its approx top speed at 85kmph. The engines are checked and sealed by Punjabi. The chassis on these karts are the same as other classes, but only has rear brakes and use MG tyres
The minimum weight for this class is 190kgs which will be weighed after every race and the age ranges from 14 to 65 and up.
This kart's average time around the track is about 54 seconds with the quickest time being 52:08.

Senior Max Representative:

Max Masters Class is a social class and is open to drivers from ages 32 years and up. Age is not a strict number, it's more the weight of the driver which will need to be 85kg's and up and the minimum weight for this class in the kart is 180kg's
The karts have a 2 stroke engine, allowing older generation Rotax motors. The karts use rear breaks only with mojo tyres.
